ABOUT MEGEN

Megen Hlavacek began her artistic journey in New York City with The New York City Ballet, where discipline, form, and expressive storytelling first shaped her creative foundation. Raised by an ASID interior designer who founded Interior Spaces in 1978, design was not simply a profession—it was part of her DNA.

When her mother stepped down from the firm, Megen seized the opportunity to realize her own vision, transforming Interior Spaces into a platform for elevated, boundary-pushing design.

Never satisfied with the ordinary, she seeks the extraordinary in every project—blending architecture, art, material innovation, and narrative into environments that feel both intentional and alive. Constantly expanding her repertoire of materials and techniques, she challenges the artisans and collaborators she works with to push beyond the expected and step outside their aesthetic comfort zones.

Megen credits the creative teams she assembles for each project’s success. While thoughtful design brings structure and function to a space, she believes it is the collaboration between designers and artists that truly brings a space to life
